Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act WORKSHOP
Workshop Information and Goals
The Resource Co-Management Workshop is being held in Inuvik, February 26-28, 2019, at the Midnight Sun Complex.
The goals and location for this workshop were developed in collaboration with Gwich’in Settlement Area organizations, building on experience and feedback from similar workshops in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The workshop will cover the integrated system of land use planning, land, water, and wildlife management, environmental assessment, cumulative impact monitoring and auditing as established through the Gwich’in Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement and the Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act. The goals of the workshop are to share knowledge, ideas and experiences, and to discuss the existing processes. This event is being hosted by the co-management Boards in the Gwich’in Region and the Government of the Northwest Territories.
Interested participants can register here. Registration closes February 1, 2019.
